I have lots of "stories" from that line of work. The a/c unit is in the ceiling and most of them the access was through the closet, after removing the things on the shelf.
I really disliked going into a bedroom that had the door shut, after knocking on the front door and entering and yelling , "MAINTENANCE" several times, I went into one and this was in there. ( I had to look )
