I've refused to keep winders on any machine I own. Knowing how it developed (Gates stole DOS code to make his first version) and the history of releasing code prior to iron or bugs simply turned me off. Aside from knowing how unstable it was.
Unix and Mac is what I used for a long time. Then Linux came out and that's been my go to on non Mac machines since.
