My dad used that phrase alot when I was a kid, it took growing up a bit to understand it ....
It actually makes more sense than not giving a flying f---- (which, to me, seems like it would be a lot of fun)

I am partial to F--- me running, which is akin to the flying version, of the saying.
"I don't give a damn" is about as vulgar as my father ever got. My mother never said anything out of line. I had to groom a colorful vocab away from home.

And there's "I don't give a Flip Flyin' F--- (frog)"It actually makes more sense than not giving a flying f---- (which, to me, seems like it would be a lot of fun)
