Yes, you can debing the phone after root. I suggest using titanium backup to freeze the apps rather than uninstalling them in case this phone gets any official updates.

I've been trying to root my Commando with SuperOneClick with no success. I tried rooting with Win 7 and the computer doesn't recognise the phone to even charge. I plugged it into my MacBook and it charges but PDAnet does not recognize it.

I tried running SuperOneClick on my MacBook through mono to run the .exe like the website says and it get stuck at:

Automatic version check failed. Is your OS version 2.0 or higher?

I click yes and then:

stops at psneuter

I have access to Win 7 and XP laptops but I think I need the driver.

Any help would be apriciated, thanks.

The way I got mine to work was:

Plug the phone into your computer, set the usb mode to media sync, run bootstrap whatever, let drivers load, set the phone to charge only, unplug phone and plug it back in. You may have to do the last step a couple of times. When you see android adb driver load then you are ready to go.

I used windows 7 starter 32 bit on my netbook to do it.

I didn't really plan on it I just had one for a day to try out and used that time to build recovery.
