G FLEX Case Thread

Got a nice TPU Case from AMAZON today. Very slim profile, a necessary feature for a phone of this size, less those who can palm a basketball :

Amazon.com: MPERO FLEX S Series Protective Case for LG G Flex LS995 D950 D959 - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

Excellent fit, w/some texture, knurling if you will, on the edges, for a sure grip.

Once the OEM LG VEST CASE arrives, this will probably find its way to the land of forgotten phone accessories:

LG G Flex Curve Vest Case - Silver :: MobileFun.com

that vest case is ultra cool, but only a chump would pay 54 bucks for it..

that mpero looks nice, but expensive for TPU??

The vest link is just one of countless others, listed for information/visual purposes, selling the exact same case, the price runs the gamut, from $20-$40.

However, if you want to get some items before they're available anywhere else, & don't mind paying a premium for the privilege,MOBILEFUN is a go-to site.

As for the MPERO TPU Case,it's less than $10.
What are you expecting?

Just made it to Los Angeles,CA.,from Seoul,South Korea yesterday (2/14/14).

International items going through the United States Postal Service typically deliver about 5-7 days once they're processed through/after ititial stateside arrival.

I'm about 1,500 miles from LA-LA LAND,so,I'm guessing next Saturday @ the latest.

Just left L.A. on 2/18/14,I'm guessing it'll arrive in my mailbox by 2/21/14.

How are you liking these cases?

I happened to receive the same MPERO IMPACT X Hybrid Kickstand Case today.
Nice enough case, providing more than ample protection, w/the 2-layer design (TPU shell + kickstand exoskeleton). However, the occasions to where I'll actually use this will be few & far between due to the added bulk.
The phone alone is stretching the limits on overall dimensions & this (for myself) definitely obliterated the comfort zone.
There's definitely occasions where this case will be practical, but, it won't be my daily driver.

Still awaiting the OEM LG VEST CASE, still en route, ETA any day now.

Boy, that VEST is coming on a slow boat from Korea!

So, finally got all these cases today; Incipio is nice, but the inner rubber sleeve is a little loose, so there is some sag on the side when the out layer gets squeezed on; this happens to all the multi layer cases, since the curve in the center of the phone sort of gets "pinched" when the out layer gets pressed on.
The Mpero glow in the dark is great; sort of like an Otterbox defender type protection, without all the port covers, and has the cool factor of glowing in the dark. the stand is great, and this will probably be the case I keep on when I go out and about, since I have been known to drop my phone, and this guys has super thick edges on it, so it will definitely survive a drop. Also, has a great kickstand, that actually holds the curved phone stable, both in vertical and horizontal states. The Mpero Flex S will probably be my everyday case; very thin, sleek, a slight lip to protect the screen when face down, and adds no real bulk to the phone. Nice grip edges along the sides to help you hold it securely.
Probably my least favorite is the Case-formers; very bulky, inner rubber case gets really pinched in the center of the phone curve, but the worst thing is the small, flimsy stand, that doesn't securely support the phone in vertical or horizontal mode. Dont bother with this one..

Just got a shipping update from USPS for the OEM LG VEST CASE, it's in-state, 2hr drive to the final destination. Looks like an ETA of 2/24-2/25.

Just a BTW on the MPERO HYBRID X KICKSTAND CASE:

The universal QI CHARGING PAD (TYPE A) that I've been using w/a much thinner case, is surprisingly working quite well w/this case, even through both layers of the case (liner & exoskeleton).

The lack of native QI CHARGING is about the only complaint I have w/the G FLEX (& G2 for that matter).
Of course an SD Card slot would be welcome, but, for myself, it's not necessary.

Yeah, I thought I would miss my 64 gig ext card, but I just keep less crap on my phone now than I used to. I dont play games on my phone, so 32 gigs of space is plenty..

Well,it's here:

LG G Flex Accessories: G Flex QuickWindow & Vest Cover Case | LG USA

While I'm totally digging' the vest case, calling it a case is a stretch at best,as it affords about as much protection as a thong does for sunburn.......:p

While it mainly dresses up the appearance of the phone,it does provide an added level of edge protection for the screen.

As for the backside, yes it adds a barrier to prevent a good amount of scuff protection, however, the thickness of the case still doesnt meet the proudest edge/rim surrounding the lens/volume rocker/power button.I feel they could have made the vest a bit thicker to accomodate this,as any added weight/thickness would be negligible at most.

From 1st glance,it appears the speaker is obstructed, however, very small holes in the speaker area are cleverly hidden by the finish (nice job).

All ports/mic holes are also accessible, overall a very well-crafted vest case.

A couple of design extras that I would have liked to seen w/this case:

1) Optional/removable side grips.A very thin-walled/knurled-textured side grip surface is almost a necessity, one feature that I like on my s-curved MPERO TPU Case.

2) Could have designed/engineered this as a QI-Enabled charging case. There's ample room/surface area to accomodate a coil,built-in,to necessitate charging, via plugging in to the USB Port, just as w/the Universal QI-charging coils that are available on various e-tail websites:

Amazon.com: Type A Micro USB Qi Wireless Universal Kr-net Charger Pad Receiver Coil For Smartphone: Cell Phones & Accessories

Fortunately, the case does indeed fit over this universal coil,w/the added benefit of dissipating heat a lot better than typical cases one incurs while charging w/one of these coils.

So overall,do I recommend this case?

If you're looking for the protection level provided by the likes of OTTERBOX/etc... no.

However, someone who doesn't expose their phone to a lot of abuse (as I keep mine stowed in a pocket pouch w/magnetic closure):

Vertical Leather Belt Clip Case Pouch with Magnetic Closure for LG Cell Phones | eBay

AND like a clean, more elegant look to their phone cases, look no further.

Chalk me up in the latter column, damn glad I got this case.LOOKS GREAT,accomodates my wireless charging needs & is still easy to remove from my leather pocket pouch.

it obviously only protects the top and bottom edges, correct?
If you get bored, can you take a picture of the front of the phone with it on?
No sure if I'll be dropping 40+ dollars on a case that needs to be put in a case!

Correct, it only covers the top & bottom edges, covering the radius of the corners, leaving the sides exposed.

Don't blame ya for passing on this @the $40 price tag, especially when you have other cases in your collection.(Saw one seller for $20,I'll see if I can find the listing)

I'll get a couple pix posted later today.

Received my Otterbox Monday, nice fit, looks like it will take quite a bit of abuse. Definitely improves the grip on the Flex, and it does not collect dust as the naked phone does. Cost was $25 with shipping. (I have a 50% off on accessories from AT&T)

I just got my Flex couple months ago and was using the Diztronic case, which worked fine and looks/felt nice too.

But then bought the LG flip cover and haven't regretted since. Love the window and being able to answer calls with the cover face closed it a nice plus. Also, it's been handy holding the phone with my fingers hooked into the window space when cover is flipped back.

Either one would be a good recommendation from me. I've had more compliments with the flip case.

My wife has been very happy with her Otterbox Commuter case

Has anyone here tried out this case?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00I1...165_QL70&qid=1403408475&sr=8-8#ref=mp_s_a_1_8

If you have how was it or is it?
Also, what's a good screen protector for amazon. I've only have had flat phones and on them I have always done clear glass like protectors.

Looks very similar to my Diztronic matte case, and I really loved it when I had it for 1 month before switching to the flip case. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ICUJHLS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought these but haven't use them yet and just playing with them, it feels pretty decent. I like the feel of my glass better since I have a flip cover on it now.

Hope this helps.

If anyone knows where to get an LG G Flex Vest Case cheaper than $40, or wants to sell their case, let me know.

I found it for $21.60, but you have to buy at least 10

The thinnest one I've found so far is the Incipio Feather, 0.05in/1.27mm thickness. Anyone find anything thinner?
http://www.incipio.com/cases/smartph...lg-g-flex.html

Diztronic is 1.4mm:

LG Feather Shine is 0.06in/1.524mm:
