Hi! When I look for a charger online, all I find are mini-USB, but that's not what the charging port looks like. Am I mistaken?

It's been a while since your question but maybe my answer helps indeed. Charging-port of G1 looks different cause of the audio-part in the connector. If you want to use a audioadapter or a headset you have to look for that special shaped connector. For charging or data transfer you can use a normal mini-usb cable, it will work fine.
