G1 constantly using 3G or GPRS

Hi all, i hope this is the right place for this.

Recently my g1 has started using 3G or GPRS almost constantly, like its auto checking e-mails or somthing.

If i disable the 3G option it uses GPRS insted

I have reset the g1 to factory defauts, only APNdroid and ToggleWIFI installed, but it still keeps doing it.
(APNdroid was installed so i could turn off ALL 3G/EDGE/GPRS connections)

Strangely this does not happen if the WIFI is connected, and if "Data roaming" and "2g networks" are UNCHECKED in SAFEMODE the "G" symbol appears(GPRS), insted of the 3G symbol.

This is slowing down my connection when i do use GPRS/3G/EDGE.

Why is this happening ??? and how can i stop it, without using APNdroid ????

This is a T-Mobile G1, using firmware version 1.5, build number CRC37

Go into settings
Click "data synch ..."

You can do either or both below ...

Uncheck "background" - any apps that need internet will not function properly

And/or

Uncheck "auto synch" - email, caledar and contacts will not synch

Hope that helps.

Thanks for trying, but that still does not stop it, I normaly have auto sync turned off.
My bros G1 is having similar issues as well.

So you turn off "background" and "auto synch" and your phone still wants to use 3g ?

That doesn't sound possible to me.

Although you could have an app running that keeps turning it back on. I would start deleting apps you recently loaded.

Yes, it still wants to use 3G, it is much slower to display the 3G icon when "background data" is off.

It uses GPRS if 2G is on as well, regardless of "background data" and "auto sync"
