G1 is finally in australia

according to an article on mod my gphone, the g1 will be released in australia on the optus network tomorrow.

The launch is at 11AM today



If you google "optus android", the sponsored link that comes up is for the HTC website saying "Introducing the HTC Dream"....so I'm guessing it's only a matter of hours until HTC's and Optus's websites go live with full/further details....


There is also a facebook group for the phone created under "HTC Dream - Australia".

In my opinion the plans seem to be reasonable. They are priced a little higher than the iPhone, but you need to remember that this phone isn't the iPhone. I would handle paying extra for the Dream, as the Dream offers more in return.

Nice to see it's in australia

I just recently got one form usa and its great i am annoyed by the phone numbers being in usa style but there's not much i can do as i don't see any roms from the aussie version available yet.

Hopefully with the g1/dream and iphone the 3g plans will improve in australia
