Help G1 microphone not working

Ok. So on my G1 the onboard microphone simply doesn't work. When I open up the voice recorder to record it just records crackle and when I call someone they can not hear on the other line.

I dont have any case on the phone. The microphone is clear from obtrusions. I plugged in a headset and the microphone on that works fine.

This is really frustrating it is already my second g1.

Hello i was just wondering if you were ever able to figure anything out about the microphone problem? Im having the same problem.

I need to read more carefully, JJJ is right, return it.

i even tried the voice search and yelled into the microphone and it picks up my voice but its just VERY VERY low

Sounds like time to return your phone for replacement. Hardware fails...
