Hi Friends,
I have been using an unlocked T-Mobile G1 from last 1 year. Just recently I accidentally dropped my phone and the touch stopped working and I started getting errors like "android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" while using G-mail or contacts. Rest all worked fine with trackball.
Assuming it a software issue, I did a factory reset. Now, on reboot I am stuck on the welcome screen which asks to tap the android to begin, however, the touch is still not working. I can set the wireless and all properly by using the trackball and keypad but can't get past this screen.
Is there anyway by which I can get past this screen? Somebody suggested me to root the phone and use the following commands:
Adb remount
Adb shell rm -f /system/app/SetupWizard.apk
I have searched couple of good articles on how to root. However, before I'll try that could anyone suggest if the above commands are to get past the initial welcome screen or the Google sign-in screen? I can sign-in to Google as I have net working if I can get past this welcome screen.
Help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Raj
