G1 rooting help?

I following these instructions http://theunlockr.com/2009/07/05/how-to-unroot-your-t-mobile-g1/....and after the rainbow screen I got a Serial 10 and never got the loading screen now im confused, I'm back where I started with a wiped phone and 1.6

The link you posted comes out but with a blank page (no content). I noticed in the address bar it says how to 'unroot' your phone, not root it like your title says. So are you trying to root or unroot your phone?

umm? help??

alright got telnet working typed in these commands and got

flash_image recovery recovery.img

whats wrong?

start over and use the file that are linked on the website by the writer of the article!
I've rooted my phone with that site and it all works perfectly if you use the files he links and listen to the instructions her gives!
the files your trying to use are unsigned!

Go into fastboot (Camera + Power On), read the Radio version and SPL (Hboot) version you have. Then post them here.

BTW the instructions Slideways posted were removed, maybe there was a problem somewhere.
