Help G2 hangs at startup after 2.3.4 update

I received a message that the OTA update was available last night so I accepted the installation.

I left the phone alone while it did its thing and checked back after several minutes. When it looked fully rebooted, I logged in to my device and noticed I had some Gmail in teh notification bar so I checked my mail but it appeared to hang after displaying my Inbox. I left the phone idle for a good 20 min thinking something may be going on in the background but it was completely unresponsive.

I pulled the battery, and restarted the device. It appeared to hang at the G2 logo. I repeated this 2 more times and never got past the G2 logo.

Then I removed my SD card and restarted, but now it appears to hang at the HTC logo.

I will try downloading and applying the manual update, but wondered if anyone else was experiencing this.

thanks,

i lose "4g" reception alot more than normal in the same places that i would normally get "4g" and it ****in blows dude

After the update install, the battery drains about 3 times more faster than normal. Also the processes are slowed to a crawl. They need an update to the update fast.

This...

and this....

I should not have updated

Not sure what's wrong with your guys' phones, but I updated last night also, and I get the same reception that I've always gotten. Not only that, but it seems to have made my phone's battery consumption MUCH more efficient than it had been. I used to get only 4-5 hours of battery life with data on before dropping below 30%, but today I was shocked that I was able to get 8 and a half hours, with data on, and bluetooth music streaming. When I check my battery usage, "cell standby" and "phone idle" take up FAR less resources than they used to (they used to dominate my battery usage). Plus my 9 widget-heavy home screens load a lot faster than 2.2 did.
All in all, I'm liking the update.
