G2's screen is polarized

I guess this is what you call it? Perhaps a side effect of the display tech.

Noticed this the other day when wearing polarized sunglasses. Turned the phone horizontal and the display disappeared. Took sunglasses off and everything was fine.

Happened to me with a outdoor rugged digital camera. Taking pictures in the pool, turned the camera to the side and it shut off. I initially panicked since I though water got in the camera and hit the off button. Rinse and repeat for a few times before I figured out what was going on. Felt like an idiot. :D

Still just thought I'd mention it.

Same here, I have to take my polarized sunglasses off or turn the brightness all the way up, but this eats tons of battery :( Are you also seeing the vertical lines in the glass when in the sun, at a certain angle? I've read one or two people mentioning it, but need to know if this normal since my last day to exchange is near. Thx

i see it but i don't know if its a defect or just the screen. i think its just the screen

Yeah, had the same thing with my GNex (gas pumps are worse). But I'll say my G2 is actually better than my GNex when it comes to seeing through my sunglasses in the car mount. Admittedly, I haven't really turned the phone every which way with them on, mainly cause I use my sunglasses almost only in the car, since my regulars are transitions anyway. I've kinda gotten used to it over time though, with other devices.

I had to go buy new sunglasses because of this. I couldn't see a damn thing with them on in landscape when using my gps in my car. Thank god they were cheap gas station ones :)
