Help G3 not waking up

First off, well done on an efficient, succinct post.
I'm responding because I just got my VZW G3 today and have had this same thing happen 4 times now. All I had done to the phone was to enable developer options, change the transition timings and switch to ART.
Just did a factory reset; here's hoping it settles down. If not, it's going back.

Was there any common situation between the times that it happened, or was it apparently random?
Random. Three of the four times, the phone was laying on the table, off. The other time the phone was on - was using Chrome. This was the first freeze. The phone totally stopped responding, and all I could do was wait for the screen to turn off, and it eventually did. Then, it was functionally equivalent to the other 3 times - needed a battery pull to do anything.
Update: So far, so good. My G3 snoozed restfully overnight on the charger and woke up when I knocked it. The only difference so far is Dalvik v. ART. I'm on Dalvik this time around.
I did get a couple crashes of My Verizon Mobile yesterday on ART; wondering if that's related. No such crashes since the factory reset.

Oh, and this thread over on XDA seems to be building a consensus on ART with (at least) the Verizon G3.
