G4 won't start up

Hi,

I was browsing the web on my G4 earlier today when the screen just turned black, tried turning it back on but nothing happened then my smart watch brief to say it had lost connection to my phone so presumably it had switched off.

Been trying for the last hour or so to stay it up again but nothing works. I've tried holding the power button for 30-60 seconds, pulling the battery, charging it but no joy.

The battery was around 85% charged when this all happened and when I plug the phone into a power source the LED doesn't come on so it doesn't even look like it's drawing power.

Any ideas on what has gone wrong or how to fix?

Thanks

Yeah, not sure why fastboot was suggested, if it's not being recognised by a PC, nor is it drawing power so that's not going to work....

Try a battery pull (although I'll assume you have already), but if the LED isn't even coming on and it's not coming up with QSHUSB HUB (can't remember the exact code) then I think it's dead, sorry.

Dammit!

I've pulled the battery, taken the SD and SIM cards it just to be safe, held all the buttons down - you name it!

Guess I'll have to put an insurance claim in :(

Insurance claim will be quicker though. I've tried returning the phone before when I've had other problems and they want to spend a couple of weeks repairing it first

My guess is that it us a PDA board problem. Same happened with my s4 mini and s4. For both were fixed in warranty period.

Something weird just happened....

After leaving the phone alone for a couple of days I decided to try again, and see if I could stir it into life (mainly because the LG support line insisted I followed some problem solving steps to make sure) and it powered up. I plugged it straight into the wall to try and get some power into it and it seemed to be going OK.

However, left it plugged in for about 5 minutes and I'm back to square one. It now will not start again, or charge up.

The odd thing is that for the few moments it would switch on the screen said the battery level was at 1% and then shut down. The battery has been unplugged since this all happened, and was definitely around the 85% charged mark when it originally shut itself down.

So, problem with the battery itself, or problem with the motherboard or something else inside the phone? Is it worth investing in another battery to eliminate that as the problem?
