Help Galaxy 3 voicemail settings greyed out

Captn Bob

Lurker
Due road noise, I keep missing voice mail notifications on my Galaxy 3. It sounds once. I would like the voice-mail notification to repeat. I can do it with incoming emails and SMS with no problem. I found my voice-mail setting selector is greyed out in the call settings in the Galaxy phone app, and I am unable to click on it. I am thinking that is where the setting should be changed. I checked T-Mobile for a possible setting or fix but got no help there. There is not much help on the net so far as I have found. I consider myself a bit techie oriented but this one's got me stumped. There are apps out there but it should be able to be controlled from the phone like all the other notifiers. I have the latest version of the operating system.

Any way to find out why the settings in the default phone app that came with the Galaxy is greyed out? Are other Galaxy 3 users having the same issue?

Hello and welcome to the forums. I see your having a problem with a android voicemail apk. Now your question is why is tje app greyed out. This greyed out is for the settings . If so go into the manage apk area scroll down to the app and clear all data and cache . Now go back to the apk draw and select this apk and now try the settings again.

Thank you for your reply. I did as you suggested, including re-starting the phone, directly after clearing the cache and data. I am wondering if T-mobile is somehow causing the issue. Is there anything else I can try?

Hey Capt Bob. Let me know which S3 you have and I'll move your thread into that device discussion area where it will receive a lot better attention.

Thanks Olbriar ! Not really sure how this site works. A learning curve to be sure. I have a HTC Galaxy 3 SGH T999-UVDMD5, using Android 4.1.2 from T-mobile. How do I follow this post once its moved?

I'm certain you will find this thread with the link I left you as well as the redirect on the original thread. I'm sure the friendly members here will have some answers for you. Good luck and have fun.

As far as Voice Mail with T-Mobile, they handle it on their end. All the uses can do is set a password. Try contacting T-Mobile and see if they can change the notification setting for you.
