Help Galaxy Ace initial niggles

Hi.

I just got a galaxy ace. Couple of things puzzling me about it. I seem to have 2 sets of contacts. I have the set that I use day to day, each saved to the sim, my phone contacts, then I seem to have a rogue set that have synced from either my email acount or facebook or somewhere.

I can't work out how to assign photos to my main set of contacts & delete the phantom set.

If I open a photo I've taken in GALLERY and click set as> Contact Icon

it tries to attach it to the rogue set of contacts, many of which already have photos assigned, but not all of my phone book contacts are in there.

It is driving me MENTAL!

Also, when I'm using the phone to get through to a customer service line, say o2, the screen switches off very quickly which makes hitting the menu option keys tricky. If it says 'press 1' I have to touch the screen to switch it on again, which often enters a different digit and messes up the whole process. Any way I can get the screen to stay on while I'm using the handset?

Cheers!

1. Download samsung kies

2. Export all your contacts in csv (both sim and phone)

3. Edit this csv file or create a new file in whichever way you want, having one set of contacts

4. Disable background data and autosync on your phone (settings, accounts and sync)

5. Delete all contacts from your phone and upload contacts newly from your csv file

6. In future sync only from places you need, and what you need.

I have exactly the same problem with the screen going blank and not being able to type in a number on my KB. I hope someone answers this.
