Help galaxy ace unreadable sim card error

i have purchased a used samsung galaxy ace and recently had a unreadable sim card error, its completely out no network no signal, nothing indicating i have my sim card in, wasnt dropped or anything, just woke up went to send a text and wouldnt send, tried formatting, reseting, default settings, and even putting sim card in other phones but nothing.(phone is unlocked and is with bell at the moment) taking it to dealer tomorow to see if that helps.

Before taking it to someone, make sure your SIM card is healthy, for the phone to detect the sim card it must touch all the metal parts on the SIM cards (there are 6).

Over the time, some metal parts are pushed inside the plastic and the card is not detected.

Another possible reason is that your SIM card may have some dirt on the metal, take your keys and scratch the metal gently and see if that works.

Oh, the same applies to the sim card connector that is on your device, make sure it's clean (scratch it gently with a razor if needed)

Actually only 5 parts of the metal are needed but I think you don't wanna investigate in that direction ))

Did you find a solution to this?
My girlfriends phone is doing the same thing.
Tested the sim in another phone and it worked fine. The phone can see the network exists when you search available networks, but then won't connect.
Orange UK in this case.
Let me know if you got to the bottom of this issue and whether it is even the same thing.
