Hello and welcome to Android Forums!
Rooting is quite an involved process... you would be best off signing up and heading to Samsung Galaxy Nexus - Android Forums (actually the correct All Things Root sub-forum... there are several, depending on which version of the phone you have), as others with the same phone would be best to offer you help/advice.
Good luck!
