if i get a galaxy nexus from best buy or verizon, first off, how do i jailbreak and then unlock it to at&t, and if i do that, will it cancel my contract???

That's a big no go. AT&T is gsm and vzw is cdma / lte. Even the LTE bands are different between the carriers. You could look at the Note (it's what I would choose if I were and AT&T customer) or wait for the One X (which is what I would wait for if I was an AT&T customer).

The only other way to get a Galaxy Nexus on At&t is to order one from overseas. At this moment there are no GSM Nexus devices from US carriers. This, however, would be a GSM 3G version. There is not GSM + LTE Version in existence.

I just bought an unlocked GSM Nexus S from Amazon, used. Mine could have been TMO, but had been upgraded. However, the box said T. If you can find a I920A - I think that's ATT.

Already have ICS and enjoying it.
