Help Galaxy not updating

I have been looking to update my Galaxy S by Kies, still get the message 'This devise version cannot be updated'
How do I uprade to the 2.2 ?
Provider is Virgin and my phone firmware version is 2.1 update 1 Build number Eclair.

I have uninstalled Kies, and downloaded it from Samsung web site, but still get the same message, this version cannot be updated
 
If it is not officially released for your carrier or country, you might need to 'fool' KIES. A guy wrote a program about it. Google it.
 
Thank you, i thought everyone in UK had the update released, guess Virgin are dragging their heels.
I have seen mention of the program, bit wary of 'messing' with the phone, but might just give it a ty,
 
Well now I really dont know, what other problem could it be?
I have watched a video on the Samsung web site just to check I was doing the update right, and I am.Any help appreciated

Virgin has the new version, try updating Kies from within Kies first.
