Help Galaxy Note 1 Doesn't Like Certain Chargers

I, unfortunately, have had my original Samsung Galaxy Note for 2 years now and have had a multitude of issues with it.

The latest issue is that is does not like to charge with any cords besides the HTC cord/plug combo I still have from my old HTC smartphone. This issue started about 1-2 months ago when I noticed my GNote stopped charging on my Chargepod which I've had just as long as the phone itself. Now it's no longer charging with my T-Mobile brand car charger and my Phillips brand ChargeOn on-the-go charger that I've used with my phone for over a year with zero issues.
When I try to charge my phone on these chargers or any other cord, I have to hold the cord a certain way to keep it connected or it either disconnects from my phone and/or my phone charges "backwards". Last weekend I was on a train for an hour and my phone was at 50%. I plugged in the Phillips ChargeOn and while my phone recognized it and said it was charging, the battery continued to drain and my phone eventually died. I kept the ChargeOn connected, hoping it would eventually charge but the screen changed to show the Android Robot and said it was downloading something and not to shut down my phone. That eventually went off when it sucked all the juice out of my ChargeOn.

So, why is my phone being picky about what chargers and cords I use? Now my Chargepod, ChargeOn, and car charger are all useless and I have to replace them. I don't know if it's my phone or these non-cell phone branded chargers that eventually stop working but this is very annoying. I absolutely need a portable power pack because my GNote dies ridiculously fast even though I have a new OEM battery in it. I contacted Samsung regarding this issue, but of course I received some stock response as I always do from them.

I think you might be using cables that aren't delivering 2 Amps to your device or maybe it could be the charger hubs. Are your car charger and the wall wart you use rated for 2 Amps? I checked on Amazon and the Philips ChargeOn only delivers 1 Amp. Amazon.com: Philips DLP2277 Attachable Battery Pack and Charging Base for iPhone and iPod (White): MP3 Players & Accessories. That will charge your device but very slowly. If your using it while it's charging you'll most likely run into that reverse charging you mentioned. That's all I've got. Maybe EarlyMon will chime in. He really knows his stuff about Power requirements.

I never thought of that but I like said before, the Philips ChargeOn worked perfectly up until a couple months ago when my phone decided to hate all other charges and cords besides the HTC one. And the link you provided is not the ChargeOn I use, that one is for an iPhone but I don't know if there's a difference. The Chargepod's website says it's 3 amps, the HTC cord/plug combo says 1.0A which I assume is amps? And my T-Mobile car charger does not say so I contacted T-Mobile and they claim they don't have that information.
I desperately need a power bank to take with me but I'm reluctant to purchase one that's pricey because I don't want my phone to decide one day it doesn't like it anymore.

The only solution Samsung has offered me is to use only Samsung brand cords/wall plugs. Well I bought some Samsung micro USB cords and they don't work either with my phone. I plug them in and nothing happens. My phone really only likes this HTC cord and I don't know why.

Well Samsung finally suggested I factory reset my phone which is their answer for everything. I don't see how this is going to fix my phone wanting only to charge with one certain cable.
