what causes the galaxy note 1 to have continuous vibrating and unable to use?

Could be many things. Get a strong desk lamp. Get a good magnifying glass, preferably one on a stand. Get a wooden toothpick.

Look at the USB port. If the center bar is bent so that one or more contacts are touching the metal shell, CAREFULLY move it so they aren't touching the shell. If there's any dirt in there, CAREFULLY pick out each piece of dirt, one by one. A short in the USB connector can cause constant vibration, and it's the easiest thing to find. (Almost anything else requires taking the phone apart.)

(When I say carefully, I mean act as if the parts are made of nitroglycerine, and one false move will blow your hand off. It's very easy to slip and break the center part of the connector off. Make sure the hand holding the toothpick is well-braced - and having the phone held in a vice wouldn't be a bad idea either.)
