Galaxy note 10.1. Copy problem

I have owned the Note 10.1 running Android 4.0.4 for almost a year. IT is a pleusure to use and I have had no issues, till a couple of weeks back.
I have recently noticed that when I try to copy anything, the app I am in, closes. This happens in all the apps I have tried. Can anyone suggest a solution please?

All i can think of, is that I upgraded AVG to paid up version.

It happens in all apps, i use. whenever i try to copy text or link. the app restarts or hangs up

First try to uninstall AVG and see what happens. If that does not help try booting into recovery and clearing the cache partition. You will not lose any data or anything.

Then the next step would be to find out which system app is responsible for the clipboard and clear its data though appp manager.

I have already tried uninstalling AVG but the problem persists. I am afraid I do not know how to boot into recovery. So I am stuck. Thanks for your help

To boot into recovery shutdown and them press and hold Power and VolUp.
