Help Galaxy note 2 and app question

Hi all,

New to the forums and Very new to owning a samsung, which I only got today. I've downloaded a few apps and they are all working great except one. I downloaded Zedge and now every time I click on it, it takes me to google play store and there is no way out of it other than clicking on and off button ((Not physically off)) but you know what I mean right? Any ways how can I get this to stop associating itself with the google playstore and use it as it was meant to be used? I really want to use that app lol thanks for your time, I look forward to your replies :)

Welcome to AF, wiggywoggy!:)

I have moved this thread into the Note 2 forum so that someone with the same phone may be able to help with this issue.
I must admit that I have never had any kind of issue like the one you are experiencing with the Zedge app, but I am sure that there is probably someone here who can shed some light on this.

Thanks for that, I do hope someone can help as it's frustrating since I want to use the app but currently the only way to at the moment is via my PC.

It's so bizarre, click on the app via the Samsung galaxy and it takes you to the store and there is no going back, spooky stuff.

Rather than open a whole other topic I thought I may as well add to this another question I have.

O.K I would like to assign different tunes to my messenger but I can't seem to figure out how to do that?

Thanks :)

Also check in application manager, and check the app and clear cache and data and then force close and try again, if it still does not work, I would do as the member mentioned, uninstall and reinstall again, and report back.

As for your messenger do you mean tunes to different contact in messenger, or do you mean you simply want to change the notification tone in messenger ??

If you mean to assign different tunes to specific people, you can do that within the contact app. Open the contact app, scroll to the person you want to set a tune for, then look for message alert. You could also install an app called Ringo Lite which does the same thing. The one glitch with the Ringo app is that it will lose the settings when the app is updated(sometimes). I had to use this app for other phones, but the Note 2 has it built right in. Not sure if it has always been there or if it is on all versions. I am on T889 which is T-Mobile US.

Thanks for all your assistance, I had turned my phone off fully last night and when I turned it back on this morning it seemed to have fixed the error I was getting with Zedge.

Yes I wanted to add some kind of music tune to each individual user of messenger. I managed to work out how do do that with Zedge but now it only gives a short like 1 second of the tune and no more, so not sure about that one.

Also last issue I seem to be having is that randomly my tunes will start to play without having done anything, I'll be at the computer or watching t.v and my phone will play a tune not associated to email, texts, messenger nothing it just plays - where would I go to fix this issue?

Thanks :)
