Help Galaxy Note 2 battery issue.

Raceln

Lurker
Hello. I got my Note 2 back in December of last year and I love it. One of the reasons I love it is that battery life. I could go two days without charging it and still have around 25% battery left. About three weeks ago the battery started to drain quicker. Another thing I noticed was I always had my GPS on and that was never a problem but now it always is either looking or indicates that the GPS is on. Has anyone ran into this issue before? Should I attempt to replace the battery?

Here is my settings
Screen brightness low
Wifi on
Screen rotation on
And this is verizon

Any help would be great.

hello, I'm sure its got nothing to do with the battery, you maybe have apps running on the background which is trying to find your location eg weather or googlemap. Try this app BetterBatteryStats to check whats killing the battery.

Look into your google map app settings. On one of the updates, it turned on background location updates. You will need to disable it or it uses your location data (including the GPS) to keep track of you all the time and use up battery like crazy.

I had Android booster installed that seemed to drain my battery and because I thought the Original Samsung battery was starting to get weak purchased another couple of generic batteries the other day with a free charger.

What I did notice having placed the Samsung battery (only 5% ) on this charger was it took hours and I do mean hours most of the afternoon and overnight to charge fully but once charged it remained at 100% for almost 2 days I was beginning to think there was a fault I only checked my e-mails every so often via Wifi and not much else so maybe this was trickle and not fast charger also having let the battery get to 5% capacity seems to have given it a new life
