This resource created by Phandroid.com Contributing Editor Kevin Krause as part of an Official Series of beginner tutorials for Android Forums.
If your device is acting wonky or you simply want to start with a clean slate, a last resort might be to performa a factory reset of your Note 4. Doing so is easily accomplished from the phone's settings menu. Here is how:

  1. From Settings, navigate to "Backup and reset" under the "User and Backup" header
  2. Tap "Factory data reset"
  3. If you wish to also format an installed MicroSD card, check the box next to "Format SD card"
  4. Tap "Reset device" and confirm
Your phone will begin the reset process, which will involve booting down before restarting. This usually takes several minutes, so be patient.
