Galaxy Note Apps Size

When given the choice of app size, should I chose phone or tablet? I chose tablet for NY Times, but the video seems wrong. Any thoughts?
 
Some things seem better on tablet like NYT or if you're reading books and what not, but
I'm not too sure about video.
