Help Galaxy Note Newbie

Newbie
I apologize if this has been answered already, but I have a few questions I need help with. I just got the phone yesterday. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Is there a way to have the phone set up where my incoming calls and notifications is set to vibrate only, but the alarm clock to play some kind of tune? Is there a setting like this? I have tried, but cant figure it out.

2. I put all my files from my old phone(Blackberry Torch) into a MicroSD card and installed it into the Note, but most of my music album covers has a pic of my friend instead the actual cover.

3. As noted above I put all my files from my old phone into a MicroSD card. When I go into my Gallery there are 3 files external sd, pictures and screen graber. How do I get them all into one file. Also inside the external sd file there are some videos which obviously do not belong there. How do I move it into the movie/video section of the phone?

4. Once I have downloaded a Flixster movie into my phone can I watch it on the video/movie section without clicking on the Flixster icon every time?

1. Yes, you can. My phone is for data only. I have a different phone for voice. I turned the ringer off on the calls using the settings menu. You can easily set it to vibrate. I do not recall exactly were the setting is, but I am sure you can find it.
2. Put your SD card in your computer. Mail the files to your phone one at a time (slow but effective).

I do not know the rest.

I am not impressed with the phone at all. I would return it if I could. A lot of things about it really work poorly. If you can I would take it back ASAP.

1. Download profile scheduler and turn the phone to silent mode. Even when the phone is running silent the alarm should still be audible. If this is not the case then just download a different alarm app.

2. Since my mp3s are all self produced from my collection of CDs I have no album art (not that I would care for it since I never look at the phone while playing music. But you could try to download another music player. Many in the play store have much more advanced features anyway.

3. This is the default behaviour of this application and again I find it quite useful. But I am sure that you can find a different gallery application (again in the play store) that will let you sort your media as you wish.

4. I am not familiar with this service, but I can only assume that the service provider will not want you to access the content outside of the application for licencing reasons. Otherwise you could resell or share the content.

So, most of my answers are to search for an app to solve the problem. This is the main advantage that you get moving away from BlackBerry. You can customise the phone to do what you want rather than what the manufacturer thinks you want. Generally the people who dislike the phone don't get that ;)

Hope this helps...

Regards,
Eric Ritchie.
