Galaxy Note on Straight Talk?

Has anyone used the N7000 model on Straight Talk network in the States?? Once I return stateside, I'm looking at using that service (prepaid), which will allow me to keep the Note unlocked. Any comments on service/performance?

I just looked up the specs for the N7000, and it seems it should work fine on the AT&T SIM. It will also work on the T-Mobile SIM, but will only get 2G/EDGE data speeds. If you have the paperwork on it please confirm that on the 3G/HSDPA frequencies it states:850, 900, 1900, 2100. AT&T uses the 850 & 1900 bands.

I'm currently using the Straight Talk AT&T SIM and am pleased with the service and performance. One thing to point out is that ST is stingy on data on the AT&T side. If you use too much in one or two days, or overall for the month, they will throttle you and eventually cut you off if you keep it up. Their ToS specifically prohibits streaming and tethering.

Thanks for the info... to confirm, for Straight Talk (on AT&T SIM), data service blocks streaming? So, no YouTube while on the service's 3G connection at all?

Read other posts on the straight talk forum.. Your questions have been answered numerous times and there is more information there for you to use...

Yes you need to read through the forum because there is no published official policy on this. Near as anybody can tell, it depends on where you live and how much data other people are using that determines the data profile they use to cut you off.

If you like to stream YouTube and Pandora a lot while on 3G, ST probably isn't the carrier for you. If you do most of it on WiFi you should be OK.

Got my Galaxy Note delivered out here a few weeks ago.. uses regular sized SIM (GSM), and now using MTN network here, a South Africa based service, and also services Afghanistan. Works well even in the remote province I'm current assigned to. Plan on switching temporarily to One Sim Card plan (Global GSM) during my redeployment travel back to the States, and then Straight Talk after I get settled.
