Hello everyone,

I'm new to the android word, and this galaxy note is actually my first smart phone!
I've only had it for few days now and I need to ask you guys about two things:
1. Battery life? It seems it is so bothersome for everyone how it drains too fast.. I've learned much from what I read..but is it normal that it takes 6-7 hours to charge it? Sometimes even 8! I admit I use it lightly while charging...it also consumes battery so fast even though I minimized my screen brightness and turned off syncing and keep unused apps closed... So far I only use it for ner browsing, facebooking...no videos..no games!
My note is still new and I love it, but how would I experience the best of it? And how would I know if there's something faulty about the device?!

2. I noticed something about my screen... That sometimes the light turns greenish then reddish, colors of whatever i'm viewing remains normal, it's just the light that slightly changes...is this normal?
 
I used to be very active in the battery threads here. I doubt its hardware issue. Always seems to be some settings or software that's installed. I even started threads on how to get 5 days or more on a battery charge... search my thread history and you should find them and hopefully they help a bit.

However, make sure you are charging with a power plug in the wall, not a USB connection. USB connection has 1/2 the power of the wall adapter and takes a long time.

I use the wall charger. And I have to admit that I won't try rooting my device though I would really like to try the setcpu ! I'm new to all of this. So, is there another app I could use without rooting?
 
try juice defender from play market(google) .. it extended my note battery by at least few hours..also try to disable sync and reduce the brightness and stop vibration ..this will all increase your battery time...also try another battery ..it could be you have a faulty one as i used to have before..good luck
