Help Galaxy Note - Sounds suddenly gone poor

Lurker
Hi guys

Had my Note for about a year and its been great and I use it as an MP3 player and for radio and for playing MP3s a lot.

In the past few days something has changed and the sound quality is now dreadful.

Both the Radio and Music Player apps reproduce sound like I am listening to them in a huge container with a tiny speaker far off in a corner, Vocals especially are bad and seem to fade up and down and each track is slightly different in sound quality.

The audio settings within the music player are both default (Normal)
Tried another headset and it still sounds bad.
Also tried changing the app settings and this just makes it even worse.
Its not my MP3s either as they used to sound fine.

Could the decoding or playback chip in my handset dieing?

Please guys I am stuck and have no ideas how to restore my sound quality so any ideas chaps?

Regard
Simon

First thing to try is another player. Poweramp is particularly good. Download and install the free trial and see if that solves the problem. If it does, then it would appear that your music player app is at fault.
