Galaxy Note (original) running 4.0 and Consumer Cellular. There is no ROAM menu to allow my phone to roam. Under More settings I have AirplaneMode-USB utilities-VPN-Tethering-NFC-AndroidBeam-WifiDirect-MobileNetworks. All the help forums show a ROAM menu option. I don't have one. My wife also has CC network on an LG and it roams fine. Is this a function of my phone? or my version of android? or Consumer Cellular?

Hi

Isnt it in
Menu
Settings
More settings
Mobile networks ?

If not I suggest you contact your carrier and find out how to enable roaming.

Roger

Mobile networks only has Use packets-Data Roaming-Access-Point names-Network operators. It appears that Data Roaming only deals with data access and not voice roaming.

Since my wife's phone on the same network roams fine, I wont believe it is the network. I did call the network 'Consumer Cellular' and since it is not a phone they support, they were no help. So I guess when I need to roam, I will use my wife's phone.

Hi again

On my phone under mobile networks there is an option
Network operators where it can be set to auto select (roaming) or can be searched for and specified. By default it is roaming

Roger

under network operators it says -Default Setup- and it is greyed out so I can go no further. There are no menu options either. Is there a way to turn that back on?

Hi again

That will have been locked (into the rom) by whichever carrier originally provided the phone. It probably allows roaming on the original carriers partner networks with the original carriers sim. I suspect you are out of luck. If you know the original phone supplier you could ask them if there is a way to unlock it.
