Galaxy Note8. application storage more than tablet capacity

Tablet capacity is 9gb. One application (photos) shows storage of 25gb. How is that Possible?
 
If I'm not mistaken, the Note 8 comes with 16GB internal storage and a 16GB external SD card, so you could theoretically have 32GB of pictures on it.
 
Rukbat You got me thinking with your reply, so I double checked. It's a standard piece of kit with no SD card, so it's 16gb stand alone.
