Galaxy S and Android 3.0 (Gingerbird)

No manufacturer has yet said anything about Gingerbread (not bird :)) to my knowledge. It's probably a bit too early to expect anything official about that when Google hasn't even announced it yet, and FroYo hasn't come to anything but N1 yet.

FroYo is coming to the Galaxy S. A Korean Samsung official said that the Korean version would get FroYo in late July/early August. Samsung is probably using that market as a test so the rest might have to wait another month or so, but that's just speculation.

thanks for update. and BTW , I am getting this phone on Sunday or may be even before it, depends on availability of stock here in India,Mumbai

Of course those of us on T-Mobile UK will only get Froyo if T-Mobile actually allow Samsung to deploy it.

The latest word on the Spica/Portal is that they've refused to allow the 1.5 --> 2.1 update because they have 'determined it is of no benefit to our customers'.

Be warned, the same could happen to the Galaxy S(!)
