Brand new orange galaxy s phone on 2.2.1 froyo - unrooted
I want to know if anyone knows a way i can stop the email and gmail tasks automatically starting? it seems they start randomly with no prompting from me, sometimes every couple of minutes, sometimes over 20 and its not there, but sooner or later they come back without me starting them.
I know that it isnt syncing automatically.. a bit stumped. I know it shouldnt be a big deal but i'm afraid its affecting my battery big time. after a few hours use and then over night I wake up with 20% left, thats awful. I wouldnt mind so much but when i turn something off, i want it OFF. The main issue is i can see from reading the 'features' that one thing these mail apps can do is 'prevent the phone from going into sleep mode' and after looking at the battery usage i can confirm that the phone is constantly doing something (none of which is sleep/idle mode).
I want these apps either gone or disabled. How can I do it without rooting the phone (I've had it 1 day, im not gonna risk doing something stupid and ruining the warrenty, knowing my luck i'll mess it up somehow..)
