Help Galaxy S kills apps automatically

I've foud a thread similar to this one, but my question wasn't properly answered. So here it goes:

I've got a Galaxy S on froyo 2.2, and i've noticed that if i don't use an app for a while, it gets automatically killed. For example i quit opera, or the music player, or basically any other app using the home button. Than if after a few minutes i try to return to them, but they have to load up again. This can get annoying, since almost every time i open a link in opera/view my twitter feed/resume music playback after a while/open a book/etc. the app has to load up.

I think the problem might be the preinstalled task manager on the phone. Any idea how to keep selected apps running in the background?

Its inherent in the coding for android that any apps not being used are shut down. Android is a Linux based OS and it is designed to allocate memory properly and when a app isn't in use it shouldn't be using any so it is shut down automatically. All these app killers on the market arent infact required and use more power than they save.

Okay, so the system shuts down the apps not being used. Can i prevent that somehow? Keep some apps running in the background when they are not being used? After all, what's the point of multitasking if not that?

Point of multi tasking is to have the ability to USE more than one application at a time. If you're not using it, it shuts down lol

Seriously though, I don't know if there is anything you can do to keep an app alive. I'd imagine there isnt.

certain apps stay alive depending on what they are doing. some apps may need to sync at regular intervals, other apps may wait for a certain action to occur then act upon it you can check them in the running services menu under settings/applications/running services. A web browser doesn't need to keep running once you've viewed you website, so something like that will get removed as it isn't doing anything other than taking up memory.

If I'm not mistaken, android will only remove stuff when memory is need for other applications, it suppose to balance it out, not just get rid of it when you close something down.

For an app to stay alive indefinitely, it needs to have something in the notification menu. Which is why apps like 3G watchdog and tasker always have something in your notification menu.

That's my problem, my phone closes the apps down if i don't use them, even with plenty of memory available. That's why i suspected the preinstalled samsung task manager first, because it seems like it kill apps when i lock the phone.
