Galaxy S LCD, my first Android

It has been a long and tiring time for me since I first posted this: http://androidforums.com/introductions/119762-hello.html

Yeah was quite a few months back. Then after innumerable attempts at hacking and trying to salvage what was left of an outdated platform of the N97 Mini, I got myself a Galaxy S LCD, out of sheer frustration.

I believe its not quite widely available, and this one's specifically for some European and Asian markets. The price was irresistibly good, so I went for it.

The thing comes with a built in 2.2.1 Froyo. And apparently Sammy has promised a 2.3 upgrade as well. I havent quite found any lag at all (but then you're asking about lag to someone who was a Nokia freak for almost a decade :D), graphics wise - I'm not quite sure, its apparently not as good as the Galaxy S in that department, from the specs. The 5mpx camera is very basic though, compared to N97 and the audio quality and bundled earphones do disappoint. Other than those, its an awesome phone. What has impressed me the most? Outstandingly awesome battery life on an Android device! I have had the phone for 3 days and I had to charge it only twice, that too after REALLY heavy usage with non stop wifi and videos etc.

For some weird reason Ubuntu wasnt recognising my phone (yeah no windows for me, totally Linux-ed), but after tweaking the USB Mass Stoage in Development option in the Settings menu, its all good. Just in case someone has the same problem.

So what do you think about this new phone? Any of you guys using it?

(Oh and was quite shocked to find that Amazon Android AppStore isnt available outside the US! Ouch!)

this is how they are packing it in India, says Galaxy S. Wonder if they've replaced the original altogether though.

It is available all over the world and as this is the forum for it I suppose most of us are using it. Not many in The US apparently though.
