Help Galaxy S Not connecting to home Wireless

I have wireless at home, but not at work. So I switch ON the phone wi-fi at home and switch it OFF at work. Past few days, the phone wi-fi does not connect to home wireless. In phone setting>Wireless & NW>Wi-Fi Setting> I see the home Wireless NW name - it shows up as "remembered".
When I turn ON the wi-fi on the phone - it continually cycles between "Obtaining IP address from..." to "Remembered". After a couple of tries - the home Wireless on my Wi-Fi list shows "Disabled".
This has happened earlier and my solution was to restart my router to drop any hung connections, sockets etc. Last couple of days however, nothing works.
1. I've "forgotten" the home wireless on my phone, re-added and put in the wireless password (it is WPA2 Personal security) - No success.
2. "Forget" the home wireless NW on the phone, restarted the phone, turned on Wi-Fi, reconnected to the home NW - No success.
3. "Forget" the home wireless NW on the phone, restart the router, restart the phone, turned on Wi-Fi, reconnected to the home NW - No success.
4. Released the phone DHCP IP from within the router - No success.

I do not want to try Static IP. The phone was purchased in India, details,
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband ver: I9000DJP2
Kernal: 2.6.32.9 root@SE-S605 #1
Build: FROYO.DDJP6

I've never tried to change anything on the phone OS. And iPhone 4, Dell laptop, Lenovo laptop, HTC phone are all able to connect & reconnect to my home wireless network without any issues. So the router is good.

Please help !!!

I can't. I share the apartment with a couple of friends. All their equipment (the ones I listed) is working. Changing may impact them.

Any other ideas ?

i had the same problem. im with BT. i went to the BT hub home page and added my phone as a device. worked after that. i think BT updated the home page which caused phone not to connect.

Tried changing the channel of the wireless network on the router?
I changed the channel on the router. It completely stopped every other connected device (laptops, iphone, android) from connecting to the internet. Changed the channel back - problem back to original state.

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to. I am unable to see a connection between wireless connectivity and adding a phone on the BT home page.
I think wireless connectivity should be independent of the phone or service provider.
In India we're not tied to a service provider. We buy the phone & provider services separately. I don't have access to the options you mentioned.

Another android HTC Desire was able to connect to Internet through my wireless router, and I was able to connect to the Internet through a different wireless network at my friends place.

I'm completely out of ideas !!!
