Galaxy S or SG2 - How Durable is GN?

Long time listener first time caller! Great forum guys. Hoping you can help- I'm stuck on one issue and sorry if it's been addressed elsewhere as I couldn't find it.
After almost 2 years of fairly regular abuse my OD has gone to the Jawas scrapyard in the sky. That phone was built like a tank- I must have dropped that thing on concrete 6-7 times and it still got up swinging. Yes I'm that much of a clutz. So obviously durability is kinda high up on my list in deciding between the GN and the RAZR.

So how does the Nexus S and the SG2, among others, stack up? It would seem that those 2 phone might provide a good indication on how the GN will take a hit.

Thanks!

This is what ultimately turned me off about the Nexus. While you will have to get the device in hand to really know how well it's built there are early reports/bloggers talking about the build quality (not in a good way neither)

If you abuse your phones you may want to get a really good case for this handset if you buy it. Otterbox or something similiar. From pics and videos it appears to not be as good a build quality as the SGSII or the Nexus S.

Handling it in person should put your mind at ease either way.

How, praytell, could you possibly judge build quality between one plastic phone and another from pictures and video?

Sorry, but I think this kind of thing is going to alarm users when there is NO reason to believe it.

Hands-on reports, I would believe. Judging from pictures and videos, though? Absolutely not.

Can someone post links to reports saying that the build quality isn't that good? The only thing I've seen that gives me any idea is a video of someone dropping an SGSII and an iPhone, and the Samsung comes through without any real damage, while the iPhone gets cracked to hell.

EDIT: Here's the link.

Edit 2:

My thought is that with Samsung being the manufacturer of both phones (SGN & SGSII), I highly doubt the SGN is going to be a POS in comparison. Also, Samsung is using aluminum threading to reinforce the plastic. If anything, I expect it to be more durable than the SGSII.

How would you guys compare the "softer shell" of the Samsung to the Aluminum exterior of the Droid Razr?

Can you make the argument that the Sammy will absorb the shock more effectively bc of this design?

Has anyone been lucky to survive a dropped Samsung?

See the video above for damage regarding a dropped Samsung. Very little damage.

As far as RAZR's design, it's got a kevlar package, but who knows if that's the whole phone, or just the battery cover, etc. Moto's device looks to be more durable, but who knows what the reality is. If you drop it on a hard enough surface, I'm sure you'll scratch it.
