Root Galaxy S Plus i9001 stuck on recovery

Hi,

My buddy messed up with his i9001 and the current condition when turn on the device,it show "SAMSUNG" and going directly into CWM recovery wihout me holding the power & vol up.
I've tried format system, wipe etc / partition internal SD and success installing fresh ROM zip from external SD but again it does the same again and again by going into CWM recovery. Also when in CWM recovery if reboot automatically like every 5minutes.

Your help will be appreciated!

Can you get into download mode..??
If yes use Odin software install firmware, all will be back to normal

Last month I flashed CM10 on my phone via CWM recovery mode. Then I got stuck on the cwm recovery mode. I flashed the stock rom to get it working again. Now, I want to try to flash CM9 on my phone using the stock recovery mode but I am afraid of getting stuck on the recovery mode again.

Also, last time I was stuck, I kept getting an error message (I forgot what it was exactly

E: can't mount (something about the sdcard)

Should I just give up on trying to flash my phone? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
