Help Galaxy S Reboots Itself !!

Hi Everyone

Am facing a peculiar problem with my Samsung Galaxy S (GT-I9003) for the last 1 day. Have bought it only 6 months ago.
The phone keeps restarting itself when i insert the SIM Card.
I tried various combinations such as restarting after inserting SD Card, inserting SIM Card, uninstalling few applications etc..

And found that only when the SIM Card is inserted, the phone automatically reboots itself after doing the Media Scanning within 10-15 seconds Please help !!

I am new to this forum and have gone through the other threads, but was unable to find a solution :(
Pardon me if i may have missed upon a particular thread/reply

Would be very glad if someone can help a newbie like me to overcome this problem and get my phone restored back to its original state !!! I Love my Galaxy S !!!

Phone Info:
-------------
Model Number GT-I9003
Firmware Version : 2.3.6
Build Number : GINGERBREAD.DDKP2

Was a factory shipped Froyo build, which i had upgraded to Gingerbread after the official release..

Please please please help !!

PS : Am even unable to backup my phone data because Kies gives the error "Device is not supported by Kies 2.0"

The error message you are getting from Kies that the "Device is not supported" usually means that an unofficial firmware is installed on the phone.

The SIM card problem may just be a faulty SIM so the best thing to do to test it is to try another SIM in your phone and see if the problem replicates itself.

Thanks rayhipkiss :)

I have tried with different SIM cards (even with Different Service Providers)..but the problem still persists..while the SIM cards works alright on other phones.. :(

Also, the OS upgrade I had done was through the official release and through Samsung KIES..Connecting through KIES was smooth, when i had Froyo on my phone..

So, you do in fact have an official Indian Gingerbread firmware but Kies is not recognising it. Make sure the phone is set to Kies mode and not Media player or Mass storage mode. (Settings > Wireless and Network > UDB settings).

OK, so if your SIM is fine the issue must be with the phone itself and I would suggest taking it to your nearest Samsung Service Center for repair under warranty.

All the best.
