Hi everyone. I'm new in this forum and I'm new to Android phones.
First of all I'd like to thank you for reading this post and giving a shot @ trying to help me.
My issue is this: I jumped from a Nokia 5530 Xpressmusic to this phone (i9003L or Galaxy SL) (I know its not the best and it isn't a new model at all but it was cheap and does what I need).
Swapped the sim card to the new phone and started using. Everything worked fine until I decided to root and unlock the phone. I rooted the phone with one app (i don't remember the name) but had to install on the PC and use it through USB as apps ON the phone didn't work.
I used the GALAXY_Unlock free app to do a SIM unlock, and it seemed to work as it shows it is without locks in the menu when putting *#7465625#
Problem was that some time after this the phone started restarting itself and after the restart it showed that the SIM card wasn't in (the sim card icon with an exclamation mark) SO I HAD NO SERVICE (Movistar), but I did have signal.
Only once I was able to see part of the message that it gives b4 restarting itself, something like "sim-detach-.........-......."
First a restart or hard restart would solve it, then taking the battery away and restarting... then sometimes it just wouldn't go away and had to leave battery off for 2 to 5 mins.
Did a "factory reset" and it solved this issue for some time until I started istalling some apps.
Sometimes it happes once a day, sometimes it happens more often, specially if I istall or uninstall apps.
Didn't try other sim card but I believe the sim card is not the issue as I used for 2 to 3 years on the nokia without a problem, even put some duct tape on it to see if it was that it was loose, but no. I believe its software related.
I would reset the phone completely, even flash it, and relock it if I was sure it would stop this issue, but I don't want to do anything before knowing as I'm a newb and don't want to brick my phone.
I'm currently on (MOVISTAR) 2.2.1 FROYO I9003LUBKB1 ORIGINAL, untouched ROM.
I hope some1 has an idea of what is causing this and how to solve it !

EDIT: BTW, this happens 99.9% of the time while the phone is IDLE with the screen OFF.
I USE Juice defender and advanced task killer to save battery life. those are the only apps running in background 100% of the time.
