Lurker
Hello, i have had a galaxy s for about 6 months now and has been working fine up untill about a month ago. I pluged in the galaxy s to my computer with kies and saw there was an uptade for my phone. So i updated the sofware ( from 2.2 to 2.2.1) and evrything worked fine. that night i turned off my phone and the next morning when iturne it on my, all my contacts, pictures, favorite sites where gone and all my icons had been reset and raplaced. Hoever non of my apps where lost. So luckly i had backed up my contactson my external sd card. I restored them and just keped using the phone as if nothing had happned. For a month this did not happen again but this morning when i turned on my phone all my contacts where gone and my desktop rearragned to when i first bought the phone. My pictures where still there and my apps where still there. However the "my apps" tab in the adroid market only says i have 3 apps now (the 2 that i had bought prevepusly and google maps) even thought all my apps are qtill there. I am with sfr for the phone company.

What might be the probleme, and what can i do to avoid this happening again?

As for the market issue you can solve it by clearing the market data, and force it to update the list. To do that go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, find the market under the "All" tab and clear the data. Then reopen the Market application.

As for why the phone keeps reseting you might have an application that is causing the issue, my suggestion is to backup everything on the phone, do a factory reset and see how the phone functions and then install the applications one at a time and see if any of them is causing the issue.

Sounds weird to me, but according to your initial story, you didn't restore the factory defaults after upgrading the os. Perhaps that has to do something with it..?

Thank you justiyad that dade managing my apps a lot easyer. As for the reset, i did not do it after the update. I did not know you where suppose to. Would this make the upgrade works smoother? Firthermore, how would i do a factory reset. ? And is there a way to back up all the apps and accounts with kies?

Thankyou for the help guys.
