"Galaxy S" vs "Vibrant"

Apologies if this question has already been asked, but I can't find it, and it's been bugging me for as long as I've been on Android...This site has a forum for "Samsung Galaxy S" and a forum for "Samsung Vibrant". As far as I know, my phone is both of these. Is there a difference? I'm not sure which forum I really belong in.

Here is the webpage describing my phone.

I just read a thread that says that the Vibrant does not have an FM Tuner built-in, but mine does.

The Galaxy S is Samsung's world-class Android phone.

North American vendors especially like to ask the makers to customize their top phones and re-brand them with minor feature differences. This leads us to having the Vibrant, Captivate and Epic (so different, it has a slide-out keyboard!) in the US and Canada - but they're just variations on the basic theme.

You'll want to probably participate in the Vibrant thread, hook up there with other Canadians for those minor differences, but work with those guys for many of the major ones. For example our Canadian-Roger/Captivate folks mix in with the USA-AT&T/Captivate ones rather well.

Your Vibrant's phone radios put it in line with the T-Mobile Vibrant specs - GSM, EDGE, UMTS/HSPA - even though your carrier called up some feature differences, such as FM radio.

For tips & tricks and troubleshooting, I'd go for the Vibrant forum in your shoes - they must have chosen to given your Galaxy S that defining name for a good reason.

If you feel or are taken any way out of place there, don't hesitate to private message (PM) any of us with a red or green name badge - we want everyone to get the user support, camaraderie and help they need. We'll be happy to help make separate threads specific to connect with others with your Bell Canada needs, for example - or square your Yankee cousins away who aren't aware of your phone's similarities and differences.

It's a lively, but always very helpful crowd at - Samsung Vibrant - Android Forums

Hope this helps!

PS - Always ok to ask questions, we loves us the questions! I always try to search before asking mine - but search is just search and we're all human. :) Better to have a question asked twice than not at all - our policies (links in my sig) ensure that's what we're all about.

Wow EarlyMon, thank you so much for the clarification, it was very helpful. Speaking of the differences, I have had a lot trouble the past trying to convince my "Yankee cousins" that there is in fact a front facing camera on my phone, but that's a different matter completely...you've been very helpful, I appreciate it.
