Help Galaxy S2 adding multiple new contacts on its own

Ever since I have had my phone it has been adding new contacts every time I make a call or send a text. These contacts are already in my contacts list but they are being added as a new number with no name multiple times. I now have over 17,000 contacts! My contacts are synced with google, Facebook and Skype. Please help!!

go into contacts
menu>more>settings>save new contacts to.
set this to always ask

I already had this setting selected, still no luck.
