Hey guys im new to the forum as you can see and already have some problems and looking for some guidance. I bought a second hand Galaxy S2 unlocked from Telstra to use on the Virgin network. The phone still has all the Telstra 'bloatware' which I was looking to remove, and have since rooted the phone to attempt to do this.
After rooting I put a sim card in the phone (for the first time) and for whatever reason I cannot access the internet or anything requiring internet connection. Wifi does work. I googled the problem and it seems that its due to the APN settings not being on the phone. I entered the APN settings, clicked save, and they disappeared. I thought maybe I hit the wrong thing, so I re-did it and again it was deleted.
I googled that problem and it seems that the phone doesnt like you changing the MCC or MNC settings and will not let you save it. Only one thread really popped up for this particular problem. The solutions were to reset/restore the phone. Which I have done but the problem is still there.
Now im thinking that I should install the official i9100 carrier branded software for Virgin Mobile to not only fix the APN problem but also the Telstra bloatware too. Is this the best course of action??
I was also thinking about installing a custom rom, probably Revolution 7.1 but thought I should flash the phone to the Virgin first and make a back up and then build from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
