Galaxy S2 I9100G roms

hi everyone

My friend bought the galaxy s2, bt he found out later that's it's not the known I9100 but the I9100G the cpu and gpu are different( TI OMAP 4430 with PowerVR SGX540) which means that the I9100 kernels and roms don't work on the I9100G!

currently there's only one custom rom and one custom kernel available for the I9100G :

the kernel :
[KERNEL][I9100G][2.3.5]MyGKernel - CWM5, Root, CIFS - xda-developers

the rom :
UPDATE:[ROM] only for *I9100G* juffo V2.1 ROM based on DZKJ2,icecream theme added - xda-developers

he rooted his phone and installed that rom which is good but he asked me if it was really that hard to adapt the I9100 roms to make'em work on the I9100G, i understand that it might be hard to make kernel but what about roms ?

he tried some apps from I9100 system like the camera and some themes, and they worked, the only things not working are themes using systemui and framework apks!

so what do you think guys ?

is it that hard to make the roms available now work on the i9100g ? should he give up lol ?

See my post (#6) for how to root and remove bloatware from the "G" SGSII and details of a custom ROM.

My fear is that other "G" owners may post on the "International" forum and be given advice that could lead to "bricking" their handsets.

Have you installed kies on your computer? Doing this will instal the drivers needed to connect your phone.
