Help galaxy s2 won't turn on

My girlfriend and I both have Galaxy S2's through Straight Talk, so I was able to do a little trouble shooting, her's is the one with the issue.

It all started a few days ago when it randomly turned off and when we tried to turn it back on there was a ton of green little lines all over the screen. After poking at it for a bit we were able to get it to boot normally and we thought we were in the clear. However that didn't last long. Same issue, only with black lines this time. We were able to get it to turn back on, but it wouldn't stay on for very long. Eventually it got to the point where it wouldn't turn on at all.

So we ordered a new battery thinking that was the issue. New battery arrived and we put it in the phone. Phone would not boot, so we plugged it in to the charging cable and it would flash the battery charging indicator on and off (the one you get when you are charging the phone while it's off). The indicator was only grey (no green for the battery level) and the "loading" circle was in the middle but not spinning. So we wiggled the usb plug around a little to see if maybe it wasn't getting a good connection (never had that issue before, but just covering our bases) and it seemed to have no effect until the battery indicator stopped popping up. Not sure if that was related or not, but now the phone seems even more dead than it was before. There is absolutely no sign of life.

Wondering if the battery was at fault at all I played musical batteries between her 2 and mine. All 3 batteries will boot my phone and charge properly. None of the 3 do anything in her phone. So we can rule out the battery being at fault.

I have searched high and low looking for answers. Trying different button combo's with the volume controls and the power button, also holding different buttons while plugging in the usb cable. Nothing I do has any effect. If anyone has any idea as to what is going on we could use the help.

Side note, the phone is completely stock (no roms, roots, etc.) and if possible we would like to be able to save the data that is on the phone.

Sounds like a hardware issue. Only a trip to samsung will fix it. data? nothing you can do to save it.

If it is under warranty send it back. Unless you had your data sitting on an external SD card then it is most likely not going to be recoverable.
