Help Galaxy S3 Default sound notification change not accepted

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting the phone to accept a change for default sound notification when receiving e-mails, messages, etc.

Although I've changed the sound notification from default "Postman" to "On time" which is less intrusive when in public the phone will accept the change but it will still use the Postman ring when receiving a message.

I have verified that both in general settings and in the e-mail program settings I have selected the "On time" sound for my notification sound, however the phone refuses to use it. When I test the sound it does work correctly, however when I receive a message it goes back to default sound.

This was working properly before I did a factory reset on the phone. I did the reset to clear a problem I was having on Bluetooth that would not go away and this helped. After a factory reset I verified that I'm still on current software 4.1.2 and re-installed all my apps and settings. Everything else is working fine except for this notification sound.

Anyone have any suggestions for this?

Well, I answered my own question here.

Looks like you have to override in the e-mail program itself on the specific account settings for your e-mail address. The general settings within the e-mail program didn't work and neither did the change to the overall general settings for all programs. While I appreciate the customization features by program this was a bit too hard to find.
